The old Railway Line at Parke, Dartmoor, Devon SX802791 50°36′00″N , 003°41′34″W

In under dripping green beech trees the old line drops off the moor, here at Parke it runs parrallel to the river Bovey and is now a cycle path. Walking with my Dad he tells us about how he used to get the steam train to school in Newton Abbot from Moretonhampstaed.
 
A retreat on the edge of Dartmoor, the Nationbal Trust is working hard at increasing biodiversity and reclaiming woodland habitat. A piece of old clinker is kicked along the edge of the track, a reminder of the narrative of these woods.
