This wonderful and wild corner of north-west Scotland leaves you really feeling like you've got closer to the Arctic circle. You feel remote and like you've really been away.

Stac Pollaidh is possibly Scotland's best small mountain, it has drama, amazing views, cliffs, drops and scrambling routes. But it also has a lovely path right to the top. It juts out in this amazing landscape, claimed by the Vikings, to be one of the many mountains in this area that were made as an experiment by God, to test what shape mountains should be. Here maybe He landed the favourite.
